I started CrossFit for health and fitness. Wanted to improve my health and at the same time I wanted to shed all the extra pounds that were damaging my body and my self-esteem.
My first impression of CrossFit was eye opening. I had no Idea how out of shape I was. Since being involved in CrossFit I have felt more comfortable in my own skin, more that I have ever felt before. I am more empowered and more self-confident in knowing that I powered through those first and intense days.
I could really feel improvement about a month in. I noticed that I could run more and I could do the workout without getting as tired as when I first started. I work in front of a computer all day, therefore, my biggest struggle is flexibility. When I started Crossfit I couldn’t even do one proper squat. Now, I am able to do up to 50 squats. This is a huge accomplishment for someone who is not naturally flexible .
Running is not something I enjoy! I remember this one time we were working out and I was the last one to finish the WOD. Everyone waited ’till I was done, even though they were already done and could have been doing other things (like going home and resting). I felt like I was part of a group of people that care about the accomplishments of other and not just there own. It made me feel included.
